Saturday, August 30th
I'm doing my best to keep everything up to date, but this weekend was just so busy and exciting!
Saturday morning was my last post and then I was off to see more of this perfect city.
We walked a very long loop around the city, but it helped us to get our bearings and discover place we wouldn't have otherwise seen! Exploration began walking down Hyde park. It is a bustling place, with roller blading lessons, bikers, live music and an ice cream truck! I think it's absolutely gorgeous, but it was also the most amount of grass I had seen since I have been here, so I really appreciated that. In Hyde Park corner, there were beautiful flower gardens like the picture above.
Hyde park is neighbors with the Queen at Buckingham palace. Unfortunately she wasn't home to greet us when we visited, but I saw her later on anyway..
(London Eye in the background!)
We walked along some royal parks on our way to out next destination...
Big Ben! And boy, he was big.
Lots of times people will tell you that a monument or statue isn't as big in person. Well Ben is not one of those. That thing is huge! Some other angles I shot:
Again, the London Eye in the background. It's right across the river from Big Ben, so we walked to the River Thames and saw that.
If you're unfamiliar with London, (as I still am) Big Ben is located in Westminster Abbey. In the same square is St. Margaret's Church, also known as the location of the Royal wedding. Shout out to Prince William and Kate..
The architecture in Westminster Abbey is crazy detailed though.
This one's for the little brother Jack.. wanna come study with me?
From there, we decided to find a place for lunch, so we walked to the nearest Nando's. Nando's is basically a chicken restaurant that's really popular in England. Okay so One Direction love it too but it's not like we Googled what they order when they go.. Or we did.
Regardless of our reasons for going there, Nando's was really actually very delicious. You order a plain piece of chicken like wings, breasts, or an entire bird and then you have a whole variety of peri peri sauce to eat it with. Weirdly interactive restaurant, but super tasty. I also got a surprise phone call from my dad while I was there, so that was really nice!
On the trek back to the apartment, I came across something familiar...
We didn't browse for long because we had to get back and get ready for a very important date.
My friends and I had booked tickets to see Madame Tussaud's wax museum. It's something I've always wanted to do, and it's about a 10 minute walk from our flat. I won't go into too much detail, just look and enjoy and let's pretend I actually did meet all of these people!
My girl Audrey Hepburn.
I could definitely be a royal, right Harry? (Perfect height too.)
Just call me posh spice with David Beckham.
Tom Daley's abs even look great upside down.
Amy Winehouse was so so so tiny.
Okay wait Robin Williams' was actually really sad I had goosebumps because beside him there was a book that people had signed saying RIP and really personal notes about how he shaped their childhood and made many laughs.. Really touching.
#TBT bored at work.
If I'm a bird, you're a bird.
Literally best friends forever, love u Shrek.
By Beyonce someone said, "How are you supposed to pose next to Beyonce?"
So I decided to pose better than her. Bow down.
Chilling with the royals. (Told ya I met the Queen.)
Posting up with the big guy in the oval office.
Honestly still freaking out about this because HOW did I not know Justin would be there???
Oh, probably because my other husband was...........
YUP.
OKAY YOU CAUGHT ME..
We entirely and 100% went to Madame Tussaud's for the One Direction exhibit.
Just enjoy...
If you don't think we make a perfect couple then I think you're wrong.
Niall and Zayn... perfection all in one little waxy package.
Niall is actually the tiniest little thing though.. So weird to see them close up and in actual dimensions. It was a little creepy at first, but obviously I got over it.
When Madame Tussaud's interviewed Harry about their exhibits.
